For those looking to launch your own boat, the Port Washington Marina has a public boat launch and resources for safe boating.

The Port Washington Marina was the first certified Wisconsin Clean Marina in the state and celebrated its 15th year of certification in 2026. This means the Marina has been verified in meeting federal and state pollution and safety laws and has adopted best management practices that make Wisconsin’s waterways cleaner and safer for boaters to enjoy.

Charter Fishing
Port Washington's charter fishing fleet is one of the largest on the western shore of Lake Michigan. The experienced captains have state of the art boats and equipment to make your fishing adventure a breeze. This fleet is why Port Washington is #1 in Wisconson for salmon and trout fishing.

Fishing License
Fishing Lake Michigan requires a valid Wisconsin fishing license PLUS a Great Lakes Salmon/Trout Stamp for anyone 16+ years. You can purchase a license locally at Walmart in Saukville and Drew's True Value in Port Washington. Fishing supplies available at Sherper's downtown.

Boat Launch
Port Washington's marina is open April 1st to November 1st. During the season, the public boat launch is open for use. Daily launch fee is $12, and seasonal launch fee is $100.

Paddle Sports
Paddling a great lake is best for the experienced paddler, as lake conditions are ever-changing. South Beach is a popular launch point for kayaks, paddleboards and canoes. Nearby Milwaukee River and Random Lake are great for less experienced paddlers. Downtown kayak and board rentals at Sherper's and The Board Shack.
